Elevate your products and supercharge your sales with our product highlighting feature whilst supporting Crafter’s Market UK (CMUK).
This guide will show you how to make your items shine not only in your own shop front but also in various marketplace ad slots around CMUK. Highlighted products also have a greater chance of being promoted in various customer newsletters when suitable.
This feature enables you to top up your account with credit which can then be used to advertise your products further throughout the marketplace.
Topping up your account
You can top up your account by using our default checkout process via the new CMUK Credit tab within your My Account drop down.
You’ll now be on your CMUK Credit page where you’ll see how you’ve used your credit previously, long with previous transactions and the ability to top your balance up.
From here, click Credit Topup which’ll take you to a page with a drop down to select various values.
After you’ve selected your credit amount, proceed to click on the Add button. This will now take you to the standard CMUK checkout page.
Just like any other order on CMUK, you’ll then be taken to a thank you page with order confirmation. Your balance will be updated automatically and be usable instantly within the product edit page highlighted in the next section. You can now head over to one of your products and highlight it for 7 days.
How to highlight your product
Highlighting your product has been made as easy as possible so you can spend more time crafting. Simply head over to the product you wish to highlight into the edit page and click on the button Highlight Product.
After clicking this button, a dialog box like below will appear. Simply click on the ‘Highlight this product’ button.
If successful, you’ll receive a success message and the page will refresh after 8 seconds. Congratulations! You’ve just highlighted a product!
How products show on the ad slots
Currently, highlight products appear randomly. This means the marketplace will retrieve a pool of highlighted products and display them throughout all of the ad slots visible on the customers page.
There is already plans to better serve these highlighted products based on relevancy in the near future.
The current ad slot areas
Category
These adverts show at the very top of the relating category. So for example, if your highlighted category is in ‘Art & Collectibles’ it will show at the very top randomly alongside other highlighted products.
Inline
Inline adverts are slots that appear after [4], [16], and [32] product placements and are randomly selected.
Possible error messages
Product already highlighted
Your product still has some remaining time left on its current ad cycle. When highlighting a product, it’s advertised for 7 days exactly from when you first highlighted it.
Not enough credit
When your credit reaches 0, you’ll need to top up again to highlight more products.
